Ravensthorpe
fish week 332 season 683 returns 97 (170) rod average 3.42(4.02)
Top spot this week went to Mark Smith of Kingsthorpe with a superb 12lb 2oz rainbow, one of 14 fish taken by Mark from a boat at Coton End. Mark fished an orange backed buzzer on floating line. Tony McDonald was again amongst the big fish with an 11lb 2oz specimen taken on a benny lynch whilst boat fishing behind the island.
An early morning bank session for match specialist Rob Edmund’s was rewarded with a 9lb fish off the platforms.
Dry, mild weather and clear water conditions have ensured that Ravensthorpe’s early season rainbows continue to rise, amongst them are a good number of large over wintered fish.
Bright lures and intermediate and floating lines are proving equally effective for both bank and boat anglers. Fish are beginning t move in surface layers in milder conditions. Buzzer, PTN and GRHE are worth a try as the water clears.

Pitsford Water
Anglian Water’s Senior Warden at Pitsford, Nathan Clayton, says "Pitsford has been stocked with plenty of good quality fish. With milder weather forecast towards the end of the week, the prospects for our opening day on Friday 15 March look good. Our boat fleet has been overhauled and brand new 4 stroke engines have been fitted. "
Season ticket holders will also benefit from a new key system shortly to be introduced at Pitsford, Rutland and Grafham Waters. For a small annual fee and deposit they can acquire a key which will give anglers car access around the shores with better parking.
